I’m Tina Somerville, a graphic designer and creative consultant.
I’m a multi-passionate creative with a love for communication, food, and the natural world, and most of my work sits somewhere in between all of those things.
Most of the time, people come to me when things feel a bit all over the place or are ready for a step up, and they want someone who can help bring everything together properly.
I design and deliver visual communication that feels clear, cohesive, and well put together.
I’ve worked across corporate teams, agencies, and my own business, which means I understand both the creative side and what it actually takes to get things done.
I’m easy to work with, but I also care about things being done well.

How that shapes my work
All of these experiences influence how I approach design.
While my work spans design, food, hosting, and hands-on practice, the approach behind it is the same.
I’m drawn to creating things that feel considered, well put together, and easy to engage with — whether that’s a brand, a website, or a physical experience.
That way of working carries through everything I do.
Experienced enough to handle complexity, focused on keeping things simple.
Background
I’ve been working across graphic design, marketing, and digital for over 20 years.
My career has taken me through New Zealand, France, Holland, England, and Australia, working across a wide range of industries, teams, and ways of working.
I originally studied Fine Arts at The University of Auckland, and later completed a Diploma in Graphic Design after returning to New Zealand.
Over time, I’ve developed a way of working that’s both creative and practical, bringing structure and clarity to projects while still keeping the creative side strong.
Creative roots
Food has always been a big part of my life.
I spent hours in the kitchen growing up with my Oma, and later worked in kitchens while studying. I went on to live and work in France, where I helped run a château hosting guests for art tours and workshops, cooking, creating, and sharing experiences in beautiful, often unexpected places.
That love of food and creativity eventually became The Food Artist, where I explored the intersection of food, design, and visual storytelling.
Over time, that same interest in creating thoughtful, well-considered experiences has carried into other parts of my work - from hosting guests in a space I’ve created at home, to more hands-on work through Clay Studio.
That mix of creativity, care, and attention to detail has carried through into everything I do.
